Take
some time to visit the websites of the restaurants you visit most frequently, and check to see if they have coupons online
or loyalty clubs you can sign up for to get mailings with coupons. Many popular restaurants also have coupons for free birthday stuff and more free birthday stuff! To search by state, visit OnBirthday.
Also, make note of restaurants that offer “Kids Eat Free” (or really cheap) nights in your area. Swap
notes with other moms so you can all benefit! I know of one chain, O’Charley’s, where Kids Eat Free every night
with any entrée purchase!
Consider sharing a meal with your spouse or kids. Many restaurants serve portions
generous enough for two. If you don't think that will fill you up, you can always order dessert or an appetizer! I also
try to visit restaurants that give you free items (e.g., Olive Garden breadsticks, etc.). Since these are usually delivered
before the food as an "appetizer," take into account that you will probably fill-up somewhat on these items when
ordering.
Avoid ordering drinks in a restaurant. The markup on these is huge! Instead, order water (add lemon for
taste, if you wish). This is healthier, as well as cheaper.
Whenever possible, I also try to incorporate coupons,
"Kids Eat Free" nights, and loyalty cards into my Mystery Shopping restaurant shops!
